a couple of days ago we got to experience a remarkable inspiring event. every thursday Markthalle Neun in kreuzberg turns into a mekka of stands selling cheap and delicious plates. we spent our last evening in berlin eating our way through what is called Streetfood Thursday and it was a perfect way to end our journey. we had roast beef, dim sum, italian cheese, raw cakes, semifreddo and of course a lot of dry riesling. we also bought a couple of bottles to bring with us to norway. we never made it to the restaurant we had planned to eat our last berlin dinner at, as what we thought would be a twenty minute visit, lasted all night. we actually are surprised to discover the high level of culinary initiatives to be found in the eclectic city that has won our hearts.

bottom pic: our last berlin lunch was frittatas at the beautiful restaurant Lokal. their service was more than kind and the interior extremely cosy in a scandi-minimalistic way (leather, wood, branches). we found this darling via the blog Berlin Food Stories. thank you!
