half of my family is sami (norwegian natives). so when i saw these at the local handy craft store Pryd, they instantly caught my eye. i contacted Hege who makes them to ask if we could borrow a handful, and it turned out she was more than happy to lend them to us for the occasion of this post. they are made out of leather, actually left overs from the making of traditional gákti pants. and some the ribbons used on them are also the same as the ones used on  traditional sami clothing. oh, they remind me so much of my childhood and of where i came from. pure nostalgica. i think we'll have to keep them.

this weekend there's a marked taking place in an old part of Trondheim called Bakklandet. here Hege among other crafty people will have stands with their stuff and there will be music and pony rides as well. Mikkel and Evald are participating in the flea for kids, so we are spending this friday night sorting through old toys. maybe we'll see you tomorrow!
